Hi, I’m Katie! Thank you in advance for taking the time to meet me and learn a little more about who I am and why I am so passionate about my specialty of supporting families and caring for newborns.
I began my career with children when I was just 12, and over the last 22 years, have continued to enjoy working with children in a variety of different capacities. My experience includes, but isn’t limited to: in home care as a professional nanny, a family assistant, a tutor for grades K-8 and as a mentor for the Big Brother Big Sisters programs in both Oregon and Idaho.
In 2014, while working with a family, I experienced first hand the struggles new parents face after the birth of a baby. From that point on I set out on a new journey. I wanted to change the way families experience the immediate postpartum period, for the better!
My main objective and reason for starting The Early Weeks is to help make the birth of a baby a smooth transition for the entire family and to help ease parents into their new roles. Through support and education, I will help you build confidence, understanding and practical skills to care for your new bundle of joy!
To date, I have had the pleasure to work with over 6 dozen infants which includes 1 set of quadruplets and 10 sets of twins, totaling over 6,000 hours of private in home care. I am proud to have served dozens of families locally in Boise, from all across the United States, as well as from Spain, Australia, London and Germany.
I love spending my days supporting postpartum families as they embark on one of the greatest adventures of their lives. I sincerely look forward to helping make The Early Weeks with your new baby a beautiful, stress-free celebration for the entire family!
